Preventive Care, Simple, and Deep Cleaning
There are many ways to maintain oral health, and one of the best places to start is by coming in for a professional cleaning every six months. Our team will identify plaque, calculus/tartar, and other problem areas before thoroughly cleaning your teeth. This will provide you with essential information to sustain a happy and healthy smile.
Dental cleaning also helps to prevent cavities, gingivitis or periodontitis. We use ultrasonic teeth cleaning, an advanced technique that employs a machine that generates high-frequency vibrations with a mild stream of water to clean plaque, tartar, and calculus off your teeth, hand scaling instruments, and polishing paste.
Home care is essential, too. You should brush your teeth at least twice a day for two to three minutes each time, using fluoride or non-fluoride toothpaste. Flossing once a day is also critical to remove plaque from areas your toothbrush can’t reach. In addition, eating a balanced diet and limiting sugary snacks and drinks helps. Finally, seeing us every six months for periodic cleaning is essential to prevent substantial calculus/tartar build-up, which can cause irreversible bone resorption and tooth loss over the years.

When you come In for your regular appointment, we will:
- Assess your oral health and update your records
- Remove any plaque and tartar (calculus) from your teeth
- Polish your teeth to remove surface stains and make them feel smooth
- We will assess your gums and will advise if there is a need for deep cleaning or gum surgery
- Apply fluoride, if you desire to help prevent tooth decay
Check for any signs of oral cancer
We always inspect your head and neck for lumps or cancer symptoms during examinations and recommend a yearly dental check-up to ensure you receive top-notch care. This way, we can be proud of being part of a team that cares about our community’s health.
